Why Do Dogs Run Away? You Need To Know This If You’re A Dog Owner!

We all know that feeling of coming home and finding that your dog is not there. You look in the backyard and there is a dog sized hole under the fence. Your heart drops to your stomach as you begin looking for your dog.

Hopefully you find them again, but why would they run away in the first place? Especially when you give it love, attention, exercise, and food? Turns out, there are a few reasons why. We even have a funny video at the end of this post to help you remember.

6 Reasons Your Dog Runs Away

#1. Looking for Love

If your dog hasn’t been spayed or neutered, this is probably the reason why. Dogs can smell each other from up to a mile away. Mating is a strong drive from dogs, so if they get the opportunity, they could make a break for it.

#2. Fear

Because dogs have such excellent hearing, loud noises can frighten them easily. Things like fireworks, construction, or traffic can scare your dog. When dogs feel threatened, they want to escape to a place that feels safe. If they have the ability to get out of the house, they will keep running until they feel safe.

Additionally, natural disasters will obviously terrify your dog, so it is very common for dogs to run away because of an earthquake, mudslide, etc.

#3. Separation Anxiety

Our dogs love us, and most will have some anxiety when we leave them. If it gets bad enough, they might just break out of the house to come looking for us.

Owner Grants A Dying Dog’s Lifelong Wish

My heart is touched when I hear a story like this.  Sunshade, a 13-year old dog was diagnosed with cancer.  Her owner wanted to give her the best memories in the final few months of her life and decided to grant her wish to have a guinea pig.  Yes you heard me right…a guinea pig.

According to Sunsade’s owner, this Airedale Terrier has always loved and adored guinea pigs!  Who would have thought!  Whenever they would go to the pet store, Sunshade would always stare at the guinea pigs and was simply in love with them.

To make the last few months of Sunshade’s life more memorable, her owner gave her two female guinea pigs as a gift.  At first he wasn’t sure how Sunshade would react but it was just a mater of a few moments that she warmly welcomed them in as a role as their new mother!  She is ultra protective of her little babies now and worries when someone takes them away from her…even for a few minutes when they need to be fed.

Watch This Pit Bull Dog Interrupt A Live Weather Report!

This Pit Bull decided he wanted his one minute of fame when he jumped onto the set during a local newscast while the weatherman was on live TV.  The Pit named King was to be featured on the next segment of the show but just couldn’t wait and jumped into the arms of the meteorologist Ryan Phillips…much to his surprise!

In the video that is on the next page you can hear the audience gasp as they were not sure exactly what would happen next.  Most people have the misconception the Pit Bulls are fierce dogs and unpredictable but King is a perfect example of how loyal, kind and friendly they really are.

What we love best about the video is how Phillips ad-libed the situation like a pro.  He welcomed the dog and said a few funny remarks…you could see in his face that he was thinking fast.  What he said at the very end is just classic!

Dogs Dinning In A Busy Restaurant

D13 Amazing Video Of Two Dogs Eating Dinner Just Like Human

Sometimes we teach our dogs tricks that are way beyond their normal capabilities… And sometimes we make them do interesting stuffs for a good laugh. So, what happens if two dogs are coupled together and sent out to dine at a restaurant just like a human? Well, trust me on this, when you see this dog couple dining on a busy restaurant, you will be amazed! They can even use fork and knife as well! See the following video to see how it happens…

These two dogs named NONO (Yellow Labrador) and SIA (Danish Broholmer) are trained so accurately that they sit in the table and have their dinner so amazingly just the way a human couple does. They sit and wait patiently for the waitress to serve foods on the table.  It was really majestic to see when they use fork and knife. They even get into a naughty mood by stealing other’s foods. They use tissue paper as well to wipe their mouth. LoL!!! It’s a wonderful display of how well-trained these two dogs are… they didn’t go out of control as soon as seeing the food, instead they did what their owner wanted them to do… and the result is this awesome video! And kudos to the makers of this video for such a wonderful synchronization between the dogs and the human hands… a very well made piece indeed!

[VIDEO] How A Pair Of 3D Printed Legs Saved The Dog’s Life!

Derby is a sweet and playful dog… but he was born with a disability… his front legs were underdeveloped. He couldn’t run like other dogs could, he could move about on his own but the disability was too much of an obstacle for him to lead a normal life. His original owners decided to get rid of him, so he ended up at the Peace and Paws Dog Rescue shelter in Hillsborough, N.H. Tara Anderson, the Director or 3d Systems heard of this story and decided to adopt Derby and help him run again. She built a pair of 3D printed legs that Derby could use… and with the help of this unique device, Derby ran for the first time in his life! Watch his amazing story in the video below…

Isn’t it simply amazing to see the dog get a second shot at life again! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him run with the help of those 3D printed legs! It’s beautiful to see people like Tara who try to help disabled dogs any way they can and make their lives better. I know doggie wheelchairs are a solution for this kind of disabled dogs, but this new 3D printer technology proves that we can always do better to help our lovable dogs… and this is just the beginning of such a wonderful invention.

Why This Dog IS Getting A Haircut Is Simply Hilarious!

Researchers say dogs are as smart as a 2-year old human baby. And almost all 2 year old babies are restless and can’t stand still while getting a haircut… So should a dog, right? But this poodle puppy isn’t… watch how he gets a haircut like a BOSS in the video below… This is so funny and cute!

This poodle pup is one classy dog I must admit… she knows she’s getting pampered and getting all the attention, so she’s basking in it! Most dogs tend to be restless when getting a haircut, my dogs don’t even want to be groomed sometimes! But I guess if you train them from very early on in life, they tend to be more acceptable towards handling haircuts. Then again, like humans, all dogs have a personality of their own… so it could depend on how your dog is.

First Ever Pit Bull-Dachshund Mix Is Something You’ve Never Seen Before!

After seeing the Pit bull-Dachshund mix now I can say I’ve seen it all! “Rami” the Pit bull-Dachshund mix has recently took the internet world by storm when his pictures were first published by the Humane Society of Georgia. This Mutt has been blessed with his adorable features due to having a Pit Bull mom and a Dachshund dad… the result is a big Pit Bull head on a small weenie Dachshund body! Some are calling this dog the world’s first ever “T-Rex” dog due to his big head and tiny bodied appearance! Watch his amazing video below, you won’t believe your eyes when you see him play…

Isn’t he amazing? Now you know this is not a Photoshop creation, this dog is for real! This wondrous creature appeared on the door steps of a man in Moultrie, Georgia; and later given to the Moultrie Colquitt County Humane Society. After sharing the photo of Rami in their Facebook page, the story received millions of share in all the social media. Now they’re getting thousands of requests, begging to adopt this strange-looking yet adorable dog. But the Humane society notes on the adoption write-up for Rami,

“Hi! I’m Rami and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m a year old Dachshund/Pit bull mix. Yes, you’re reading that right, and, no, you haven’t gone crazy. I’m full of energy. I don’t like walking on a leash. I’m a sweetie pie, and love to run. I don’t listen very well, so you’ll need to take some time to train me. Because I tend to be a bit hyper, I might not be the best addition to a household with little kids. But I’m sure that all I need is a little lovin’. Will you take me home?”

Sure this dog needs some training and grooming, but who wouldn’t love to get Rami, the world’s first ever “T-Rex” dog! Experts say this kind of dogs are called “Doxbull” or “Pitwee”, but breeding such mutt dogs is not well-received worldwide, so Rami has been neutered to ensure this won’t happen again.

This Courageous Pit Bull Dog Saved A Woman From Her Husband In A Fight!

Pit Bull Dogs have a perception in the general public of being vicious, mean and down right scary.  However many people don’t realize that what the public think s and what is reality just don’t match.  In this video a  Pit Bull in Ottawa County named Blitz saved a women from her estranged husband.  Blitz is a 2-year old 100+ pound Pit Bull and is the kind that most people fear, but his family he is very good with the kids and is very loyal to the family and is very keen on what is going on in his surroundings. This love for people and his keen sense is what helped him save a women’s life recently.  The family of Blitz heard a commotion in the street and they saw a man beating up on a women and dragging her to his car.  They opened the door to get a better look and that is when Bliz sprung into action and raced out the door.  Watch the video to find out what Bliz did next!

This Little Girl Just Got The Best Birthday Gift EVER… Her Reaction Is PRICELESS!

Dogs can be the best birthday gift ever… and this video proves that! When a child wishes for something, as a parent we always try to fulfill it. Sometimes the wish can be “Mom, please take me to moon”… May be the mom’s just smile and hug the little ones. The little girl in this video didn’t wish anything fancy… just a little pet puppy! How sweet was the surprise! Mom gave her daughter the dresses for the puppy and then she was surprised… Now comes the blast. The puppy! My God! The girl cannot believe that she really got a puppy as her birthday gift. She was asking her mother in disbelief “Are you serious?” Then she cries taking the puppy which is so small it just fits in the palm of her hand. Awww, the little puppy looks soo cute, doesn’t it? The child’s wait of one year gets over. She says, “this is way better than a cellphone!”… Well, indeed it is! She will take care of the puppy with lots of love I’m sure. The puppy will be her closest friend.

This Newborn Pit Bull Puppy Was Not Going To Make It… But Then This Cat Did Something Unbelievable!

This is one of the most amazing dog rescue stories we’ve ever heard. But this time, a cat saves the day! Just one day old Pit bull puppy Norland was rejected by his mother after birth; when he was brought to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, they knew they had to do something quick to save the new born pup. The young cat gave birth to a litter of kittens just recently, so when she was given the little Pit bull pup, she immediately started nursing him, thinking of the puppy as one of her own. Being a Pit bull, he required more food, so he is bottle-fed additional food 8 times every day. You can clearly see the look of concern on the mommy cats eyes when the puppy was being handled by a human… I guess that’s what love looks like. No matter what species they are from, a mothers love is boundless… and this is just another example of just that.
