The new year of one-time vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin started on a rather controversial note. She posted a photo of her 6 year old son Trig standing on the family dog Jill. The Facebook post was intended to wish everyone a happy new year, but instead got intense criticism from many people who identified the act as animal abuse.  On the NEXT PAGE you can see photos along with the comment that Palin posted that alarmed many.

ok people this is stupid…having service dogs myself and having been apart of a grooming shop where the manager was a trained service dog trainer I see no problem in this picture and neither would my manager…PETA and everyone else is nothing but a bunch of hypocritical tree hugging P.O.S.’s that need to do nothing more than mind their own business this clearly was made for comicical relief and not knowing the whole story you have no right to judge…in all reality she probably took the picture and then made the child get off the dog how the heck do you know so until you do STHU…

Sarah Palin in an interview after this incident said this dog is Trig’s service dog, not the family pet. To me this points to the fact that the dog is trained to NOT move in situations like this. This does not make it cute or right. The dog is overlooking it’s survival instinct because of the training and the humans that should know better did not. Stop putting these precious creatures at risk with thoughtless behavior. Their lives are so much shorter than ours and they give unconditionally.

Know what is funny about this whole thing… How many people/children step on humans like this and it doesn’t cause issues. If the dog doesn’t like it then it will move. Shoot I had a dog that would put it’s self under people.
