In the past few months, We have shared several heartbreaking stories of abused dogs and how they were rescued, but no other story is as heart wrenching as the one we are sharing today. This abused young Pit Bull has been forced to live and grow inside a small cage, and as a result he was deformed, his legs were bent and his spine was abnormally curved. Malnourished and severely weak, this abused dog named “Gargoyle” was rescued by “Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs” last December and was given a new name – “Landis”. He had since been given emergency medical attention. Scroll down and read the full story below to see his heartbreaking pictures…

Landis has been given all the medical attention he urgently needed and he responded to the treatments very well. He will have a long recovery ahead, says an orthopedic specialist, who noted that Landis’ legs have improved already from the time he was rescued and the doctor believes his legs will continue to improve. The specialist recommended to not go ahead with surgery since it’ll be very painful for the already weak and emaciated dog, and he’s already regaining some muscle on his legs. Hopefully his condition will improve soon.

Now that this poor dog has been rescued, all that was left was to find a loving and caring family where he can get proper care and soft surface to walk on so he won’t hurt his deformed legs; and he already found one. “Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs” shared on their Facebook page recently, “He is going to Mass, near Cape Cod. He is minutes from the beach (sand will be great for his legs), has a large fenced in back yard & will immediately start hydrotherapy 5 minutes from his new home! He will have 2 rescue siblings and a new mom who is home to tend to his needs.”

We are happy to see the poor dog getting a second chance at life. It’s sad that there are still some monsters in this world who hurt poor defenseless animals; but it also warms our heart to see compassionate and kind-hearted people who genuinely care for abused dogs like Landis and give them the love and care they need. We believe Landis will move on from the torments of his past life and start anew.
